How much do Concert Grand pianos generally go for?

I believe that Steinway is the best manufacturer, but I know there are others (Yamaha, etc)

Im curious what the average price of a new concert grand piano is? I know they are very expensive, but just HOW expensive? 20,000?

Well, we bought our grand in 1995…it’s a Baldwin Artist Series…I think 6′ concert grand. Anyway, it was $35,000. My parents just sold it this past year (without telling me!!!). It was appraised at $65,000, of course, they got nowhere near that when they sold it.

$20K will get you the beginnings of a reasonable home piano.

    Here’s a used D for $146,995

If by Concert Grand pianos you mean the 9 foot long, then I would say $100000-$300000 depending on the brand, the condition of the piano and the goodness of the deal. The most widely used are Steinway D, Yamaha CFIIIS and Bosendorfer Imperial.

if the reason for being curious is you’re wanting one…then you should look into this…

    Yamaha S90ES synthesizer

    http://www.yamahasynth.com/products/synthesizers/s90_es/

read the part about where the samples for the piano came from.

so, for about $2000 you can have this, which is the closest thing to the real thing.
