Bluthner 1890’s Upright Piano Playing Chopin Black Key Etude

This is just one of my restored pianos that I would like to sell as I have to make room for another piano.

One of many videos I be listing to show how a fully restored early Bluthner upright plays!
The piano is straight strung and over damped!
Many people view this design as inferior compared to overstrung/underdamped pianos because a lot of furniture manufactures in the early 1900’s decided to try and make pianos with know real knowledge.

With Bluthner’s & Bechstein’s this design and quality often out performs many lesser well known overstrung/underdamped pianos.

I have a lot of other pianos in my collection and over this year I will record how the music sounds on the following: Bluthner Style 7 Aliquot grand, 3 Bluthner uprights, Ibach double overstrung grand, Bechstein model III upright, John Brinsmead 5′ 2″ grand and a Ronish upright.

Are the pedals different on Asian upright pianos such as Kawai than American brands such as Baldwin?

The pedals are standard the world over whether it is a Baldwin, Steinberg, or whatever. Otherwise, how else would pianist play on tours or if his piano was damaged ?
They have to rely on a common type setup just like guitars are tuned to A=440, some things never changed. Same with wind instruments.

Please help! Should upright pianos be taken upstairs?

I teach piano and at the moment i have a very very old piano out on my verandah and I want to buy an upright piano and put it upstairs in the spare room to create a music room. my stairway is about 1.5m wide and my mum said i can’t take pianos upstairs is it true? please help i really want my music room

It is fine to move a piano upstairs as long as there is room. A piano should be tuned each time it is moved.

Tuning and Restauration of an upright piano

Yesterday my 22 year old Schimmel piano had it’s big day. Michael Szecsenyi came by and did an awesome job on my piano. It is like having a brand new instrument. He is realy something! In my eyes the best you can get.
I did not film all the steps it took, but all in all it was over 6 hours of very intensive work. Now I have the best piano in the world.

Upright pianos with gorgeous tone, yet an affordable price?

I love the quality tone that Yamaha uprights have. How low can the price go without jeopardizing the sound?

Yamaha build some great pianos. The sound is really subjective though as people perceive tone differently. What sounds good to you may not sound quite as good to someone else.

What are some Piano brands, with upright pianos (not grand piano) that have stores in california?

I’m teaching myself piano, and I’ve always wanted a real one. Currently, I have a keyboard, but a real piano would be great. I have no idea what brands/models are better, and where to find one, so help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The only requirement is that it has to be mahogany wood.

Steinway & Sons pianos(they are the best and can be made out of mahogany wood)- the tone is very rich and mellow…go online to buy a piano- they have way better deals and can be better than the ones in stores.
***I totally agree that a real piano is the best (having two of my own at home:D)
