I’ m afraid your previous piano was better. Pearl River has a rather too much of a crispy sound while Kimball was better balanced with pianissimo.
Having said that new generation pianos require less pedal as they sustain already better and probably the black one requires a final tuning.

at our public …
at our public library there a piano just like the first one u had but its naglected so this summer we r going to take it right in the middle of the day when every on’s there and we half to weel it on a dolly to get it to the house if the cops come we r going to say we did not steel a piano we r just walking our dog LOL!

what fun. ta for posting this. The Pearl River had a lightly better bass, of course and the overall sound was brighter as yamaha/pearl river are renowned for.

Wood or black? All aesthetics anyway. I’m VERY lucky to have a Kawai 6ft3″ grand that’s black high gloss finish as well as a 9′2″ concert grand Chappell that’s rosewood. I’d go for rosewood or any other over the black. They’re HUGE dust magnets. I keep a duster inside the kawai to save time! LOL
